Email

hello@erasemetadata.com

There is no contact form on purpose. A form would need a server that accepts input, and this site is built so that nothing you handle here has to leave your device. Plain email keeps it that way.

What to include

A file that came out broken

Please say which tool you used, the format, and roughly how large the file was. If the cleaned copy will not open, keep the original — it is the only copy that can be inspected — and describe what the viewer or player reported. Do not attach the original file unless you are comfortable sending it: it may contain exactly the metadata you were trying to remove.

A format you want supported

Photographers ask for HEIC and RAW, podcasters for FLAC and WAV, offices for XLSX and PPTX. Tell me the format and what you would expect it to remove. Requests that come with a real file are easier to act on than requests without one.

Privacy or data questions

The privacy policy explains what is and is not collected. If something in it is unclear, or you believe it is inaccurate, write to the same address.

Security issues

If you find a vulnerability — a way to make the site send a file somewhere, execute injected content, or serve a tampered build — please report it privately to the address above rather than posting it publicly. Include the steps to reproduce and the browser you used.

Press and permissions

The tools may be referenced and cited freely. For screenshots, quotes or anything needing a response, email is the fastest route.

What this address cannot help with

  • Recovering a file. Your file was never sent to us, so there is no copy to recover. Keep the original until you have checked the cleaned version.
  • Telling you whether an image is AI-generated. The tools read metadata and do not analyse pixels. See what metadata can and cannot prove.
  • Removing a watermark. Invisible watermarks live in the pixels and are out of scope by design.

Response time

This is a small independent project, so replies usually take a few days. Bug reports about a file that came out broken are read first.
