Erase metadata from any file.

Photos carry the place they were taken. Videos carry the device that shot them. AI images carry the prompt that made them. Drop a file to see exactly what is inside — then remove it without re-encoding, without uploading, without an account.

The report comes before the removal.

01

Nothing is deleted until you have seen what is in the file. Every field is listed with the group it came from, the value it holds, and how much it can reveal about you.

High-risk fields are the ones that identify a place, a device or a person: GPS coordinates, camera serial numbers, signed provenance manifests. Lower-risk fields still travel with the file — timestamps, software, orientation — and are removed unless they are needed to keep the image upright.

When a file has nothing left to strip, the tool says so instead of pretending to work.

Why it runs in the browser.

03
01

The file never leaves the device

There is no upload endpoint. The browser reads the file with the File API and processes it in a Web Worker. Load the page, disconnect the network, and the tool still works.

02

No re-encoding, no quality loss

Metadata sits in container segments next to the pixels. We remove or blank those segments and copy the image or video data byte for byte. Same picture, minus the information you did not mean to share.

03

It shows you the list first

Most tools ask you to trust them. This one prints every field it finds, marks the ones that can identify you, and shows what was removed. If there is nothing to remove, it says so.

Three steps, no upload.

04
  1. Step 01

Drop a file. It is read on your device — nothing is uploaded.

  2. Step 02

Read the field list. High-risk fields are marked, and GPS coordinates link to a map.

  3. Step 03

Download the cleaned file. The original stays untouched on your device.

Questions people ask before trusting it.

05
What exactly is metadata?

It is data stored next to the pixels or frames: camera settings, GPS coordinates, the device model, editing history, copyright lines and, increasingly, AI provenance records. It is not visible in the image, and it travels with the file unless something removes it.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Processing happens in your browser. There is no server endpoint that accepts files, and the tool works with the network disabled after the page has loaded.

Is it really free?

Yes. Every file you can drop into this version is processed in full, with no account, no watermark and no paywall. Server costs are low because nothing is processed on a server.

Which formats are supported?

JPEG, PNG and WebP images, and MP4/MOV/M4V video. HEIC, RAW, PDF and Office documents are not supported yet — we would rather refuse a format than corrupt your file.

Does removing metadata change how the image looks?

No. The compressed image data is copied unchanged. Colour profiles and the orientation tag are kept deliberately, so colours and rotation stay correct.

Can it remove C2PA Content Credentials?

Yes, when they are stored as metadata in the file. The report flags a manifest when one is present. Removing it also removes the signature that claims who made or edited the file.

Does a file without metadata prove it is not AI-generated?

No. Most AI tools never add provenance metadata, and social platforms strip it on upload. A clean file means the metadata is gone, not that the content is authentic.
